TIMELINE

15 names per half-decade

This timeline condenses the working doc "Historia del break": from funk breaks and hip hop to UK rave, nu skool, resilient latency and today’s Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass umbrella. A compass to dig deeper, not an official roll call.

2000–2004

Nu skool breaks golden age: Finger Lickin’, Marine Parade, Botchit, TCR and the Breakspoll ecosystem.

2005–2009

The scene stays strong; Breakspoll keeps UK names central while competing bass and electro sounds rise.

2010–2014

Less mainstream centrality, but festivals, radio, small labels and online community keep breaks alive.

2015–2019

Resistant latency: more niche, more blend with UK bass and related club sounds.

2020–2024

Partial reactivation: veterans and hybrid breaks / UK bass profiles; Beatport keeps an active category.

2025 →

Tradition plus now: names holding the scene and others visible in recent breaks / UK bass charts.

1970s: breaks are born · 1980s: technique & language · 1990s: UK rave culture · 2000s: global nu skool · 2010s: loses the centre, not the sound · 2020s: mutates with UK bass.
