A compilation by one producer

Samay Compilation, Vol. 1 is presented as a compilation, yet its premise is not that of a various-artists release: all eleven cuts belong to The Pattern Sound. Issued by Samay Records as an album and marked as exclusive on Beatport, the release brings its material together under one precise rule: every track is classified as Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass, and every track runs at 135 BPM.

That shared framework gives the record a different role from a conventional EP. Rather than introducing a selection of artists, it concentrates one producer's catalogue into a 46-minute, 43-second sequence. Its catalogue number, SMRCOM037, also places the project within the label's compilation line, although the artist credit remains singular from start to finish.

The release is listed with a publication date of 5 October 2026. Its eleven tracks are already part of that week's new releases in charts, where they can be heard through the site's player.

A sustained 135 BPM run

The official sequence opens with Time To Pattern, a 3:53 track in E major, and ends with Buster Pattern, the longest cut in the set at 5:19 in G minor. Between those points, the album moves through titles extending the “Pattern” vocabulary alongside names such as SuperBad, Spare and Shit Money.

A fixed tempo does not mean a single key. The tracklist moves through major and minor tonalities — from E major and E-flat major to C minor, D minor, F major and G minor — without leaving the 135 BPM pulse. It is a clear programming choice: the album can be read as a compact reserve of material for sets working the intersection of breaks, bass and UK bass, while also functioning as a collection with a strongly defined naming identity.

Names, sequence and collected material

The first half sets the sequence through Time To Pattern, SuperBad, Spare, Shit Money and Pattern Try Again. From there, Pattern Strokes, Pattern Format and Pattern Boladão place three consecutive variations on the name at the centre of the project. The accent and ã in Boladão are retained in the official title, a graphic exception within a tracklist otherwise dominated by English.

The final stretch gathers Loud Pattern and Fractal Lines before handing the closing position to Buster Pattern. At 5:19, the latter gives the album an ending with more duration than the other cuts, most of which sit between three and four-and-a-half minutes.

A Samay Records release

In this archive, Samay Records is a contemporary breakbeat label. The album classification sits in that field: Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass. The label archive also connects with names including Kid Master, Mkbreaks, Vital Drums and Funkybitz, without turning The Pattern Sound's compilation into a roster sampler.

Before this album, several The Pattern Sound productions had appeared in the weekly selections: Experiens Pattern, Silence Pattern, Pattern Front, Pattern Siren, and Shanty with Olivo (Esp). None of those tracks appears on *Samay Compilation, Vol. 1*. The distinction matters: this edition has its own eleven-track selection and a closed sequence.
