Rawtrachs is a Birmingham-associated UK DJ and producer working across jungle techno, future-facing breaks, hardcore continuities and fractured club electronics. His productions connect tough breakbeat pressure with spacious atmospheres, rave-derived rhythmic language and a deliberately raw studio approach.
The project emerged from the West Midlands’ independent electronic-music network, a setting that informs its balance of functional dancefloor tracks and more exploratory, textural material. Warehouse energy, jungle momentum, UK garage references, techno and ambient space all recur across the Rawtrachs catalogue.
Rawtrachs also runs Futurepast Zine, a platform whose output has linked music publishing, releases and a broader DIY club-culture sensibility. Early Futurepast material includes the collaborative Split // La Charca release with Stormcatz and SLVJ, followed by his own Stasis // Vibration and Phat Beatz.
His early releases established a direct breakbeat vocabulary, with tracks such as “Live Wire” and “Two for the Show” appearing through Torre. The work favours broken drum programming and rave-rooted physicality without reducing those references to retro pastiche.
A defining strand of his catalogue has appeared through Top Drawer Digital Records. The 2022 Dark Futures release, containing “Chamber”, “Feel So Alive” and “The World”, is a representative statement of the darker side of his sound: jungle-techno propulsion, future-jungle pressure and abrasive breakbeat construction.
He returned to Top Drawer Digital’s Abstractions 3 in 2023 with “Nothing Ventured” and “Outerdimensional”, placing his work within a label context shared with producers including Lucas, Digitally Mashed, D3, Prism B.R.K and Strange Rollers. These connections situate Rawtrachs within a contemporary network of rugged, forward-looking breakbeat production.
His solo output expanded rapidly through 2024 and 2025, including Obscura / Hunger, Sampled, Another Day, Another Chance, Reconstructions 1 and 2, Kite and the Expanse EP. This run moves between compact club tools, reconstruction-based pieces and more open-ended electronic sketches.
The Rawtrachs palette has also reached beyond his own releases. “Today and Today and Today” appeared via 3024 in 2024, while his remix of West Norwood Cassette Library’s “Jump Up (Get Beat Down)” recast the source within a breaks framework.
Alongside solo work, Rawtrachs is one half of Made2Faze with Manchester producer X-161. Their Return / Skyforce release for Defrostatica Records foregrounds a shared interest in streamlined machine funk, electro-informed tension and club-focused rhythm.
Later work, including the 2026 album Mass & Light, continues a catalogue defined less by fixed genre boundaries than by a consistent engagement with breaks as mutable material. Rawtrachs occupies a distinct place in contemporary UK underground electronics: rooted in hardcore and jungle history, but shaped for present-day listening rooms and dancefloors.
