NeuroziZ is the Miami, Florida DJ, producer and audio engineer Alex Aguiar. His catalog belongs to South Florida’s long-running breakbeat continuum, with electro, drum & bass, trip-hop, hip-hop and house also part of his working vocabulary.
Aguiar was a founding member of 7 Milez of Muzik, a Miami electronic project established in 1995. Operating across breakbeat, downtempo and experimental production, the group placed his earliest recorded work in a collaborative setting rather than a narrowly defined solo format.
Ruben Vision and Daxz were among the musicians associated with 7 Milez of Muzik’s early releases. That lineup connected NeuroziZ to Miami’s turn-of-the-millennium independent electronic network, where breaks could sit beside slower and more exploratory material.
The group’s vinyl period included the paired 12-inch singles Fear / Meltdown and Equal Power / Vertigo, released in 2000 through Insomniac and Napz Records. From the Other Side / Dessert Winds followed in 2001 on Sound Records.
These records frame an important early chapter in Aguiar’s work: programmed breakbeats were treated as one element within a broader electronic language, rather than as a closed genre. The contrast between the forceful titles of the 2000 singles and the more atmospheric framing of From the Other Side / Dessert Winds reflects that open approach.
As a solo artist, NeuroziZ returned to breakbeat in the 2010s. UltrasoniK, issued independently in 2015, was followed that same year by Beat Don’t Stop, establishing a direct link between his earlier Miami roots and a renewed solo release schedule.
A sustained later collaboration with G$Montana and GN became central to his subsequent output. Their joint credits recur across releases and retain the Miami bass-and-breaks orientation that runs through NeuroziZ’s work.
The partnership was already documented in the Overtime Sessions mixes uploaded between 2017 and 2018, including a live set for NSB Radio. Those sessions present G$Montana and NeuroziZ as a DJ pairing as well as studio collaborators.
By 2019, tracks such as Disco Booty and Make'm Bounce placed NeuroziZ, G$Montana, GN and, on the former, Slip187 together in the Gigabeat orbit. The collaborative format became a durable feature of his later discography rather than an isolated reunion of Miami breakbeat names.
Much of the 2023–26 run has appeared through Gigabeat Records. Going Back, LOVE FYA, Where’s Your Love and Here we GO pair NeuroziZ with G$Montana and GN, while City Groove adds Frank Bell and The Lowdown - DMoney Remix 2 involves Dmoney. All Night, with Sweet Charlie, was released through Kaleidoscope Music.
Recent titles continue to extend that network. I’m just fallin credits Slip187 alongside NeuroziZ, G$Montana and GN, while Runnin, Stay in Place!, Drummers Drama, Loose Control and Places keep the collaborative breaks sequence active. Across three decades of documented activity, NeuroziZ connects 7 Milez of Muzik’s Miami vinyl-era experimentation with a current body of electro and breakbeat productions built through recurring local partnerships.
