Deejay Shaolin is a Texas DJ and producer associated with Dallas and the US breaks circuit. His work occupies the meeting point of vocal breaks, booty breaks and electro-inflected breakbeat, drawing together recognisable vocal material, rhythmic edits and the bass-focused vocabulary that links Florida breaks and Miami bass to later American club styles.
Dallas is central to Shaolin's identity as a working DJ. He spent 13 years as a resident at Lizard Lounge, a longstanding electronic-music venue in the city. That extended club role places his productions, edits and mash-ups in a practical DJ context shaped by sustained contact with local dancefloors.
His early releases established a collaborative, bass-oriented direction. "Heavy Beatz," featuring DJ Magic Mike, arrived in 2013, and "The Jam" followed in 2015. During the same period, SoundCloud served as an outlet for promotional remixes and mash-ups, including a version of Zedd's "Stay the Night" and, with DJ Yosh, the unofficial "Black Widow" remix.
DS Music Online extends the DJ-led side of the project. Its collections of remixes, edits and mash-ups, including Vocal Breaks, Straight Bangers and Just Mashups, reflect a catalogue that moves between formal releases and tracks assembled for DJ circulation.
Kaleidoscope Music became a recurring home for Shaolin's originals and remixes in the early 2020s. Tracks including "In A Dream," "Runnin Back," "Breathe In Breathe Out" and "Where Do I Belong" developed his vocal-breaks strand, while the credits on "In A Dream" and "Runnin Back" connect him with Huda Hudia, Doc Roc and DJ30A.
Those exchanges also produced a substantial remix and collaboration network. Shaolin remixed Huda Hudia, Doc Roc and DJ30A's "Dance Sucka," as well as Huda Hudia's "One Funky Fresh DJ" and the Huda Hudia and DJ30A track "Booty Bounce." Elsewhere, he has worked with DJ Brownie on "Right Now," Dustin Dynasty Nelson on "Beats Bangin," and Mizzo on "BMTBC."
His 2025 output linked Kaleidoscope Music and Br8kn Records: "Baddest MF," made with PhoenixRising, appeared through Kaleidoscope, while "Nasty," "Day & Night" and "Losing Control" came through Br8kn. The latter label also lists him among its artists, marking a continued place within the contemporary US breaks network.
The 2026 collaborations "The Spice Must Flow" and "Electro Booty," both with Huda Hudia, bring the electro and booty-breaks aspects of his work to the foreground; "The Spice Must Flow" was issued as an Electro release. His remix of K5's "Passion" returned to the Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass lane, illustrating the range of a catalogue held together by DJ edits, vocal-led tracks and producer exchanges.
Shaolin's contribution lies in the continuity between Dallas club experience and a collaborative release catalogue. Across original productions, remixes and mash-ups, he sustains a specifically American breaks approach in which vocal hooks, electro detail and broken-beat club forms remain closely connected.
