The label was founded in 2012 by OscaRomero, who was already associated with Delicious Recordings. Its original remit was different from its current profile: Creative Sound Records was launched as a new digital brand for deep house and tech house, with distribution aimed at platforms and download stores including Beatport, iTunes and Spotify.
That early house-focused phase should be understood separately from the label's later breakbeat activity. By the end of the 2010s, Creative Sound Records had shifted decisively toward breaks and bass music; the transition is clearly documented from 2018 onward.
Crash Bass are strongly associated with this breakbeat-era direction and management. The Andalusian production duo, formed by NaTBeazT and DJ Chacon, issued breakbeat and jungle/drum & bass material through the label in 2018, including "Sweet Dreams," "Ready Or Not" and the Pressure NUT collaboration "Sex On The Beach."
