Twook is an Andalusian producer and DJ working across breakbeat, dark 2-step, UK garage and bass-heavy electronic music. Based in Spain's southern electronic underground, the project channels a deliberately shadowy club language: fractured rhythms, forceful sub-bass and an atmosphere shaped as much by tension as by impact.
The Twook alias is the current visible chapter of an artist with more than two decades in electronic underground culture. Its release profile took clearer form from 2024 onwards, while the experience behind it is audible in the economy of the productions and their direct handling of low-end pressure.
A partial mask is central to Twook's public image. Rather than functioning as a simple visual signature, it extends a horror-cinema sensibility that runs through the music: menace, ambiguity and a sense that the tracks are built to unsettle as well as move a floor.
That aesthetic is reflected in distorted textures, ominous vocal fragments, twisted basslines and aggressive sub frequencies. Metal-inflected guitar elements and cinematic tension also enter the palette, widening the project beyond a conventional breaks formula without abandoning its rhythmic core.
Twook's first clear commercial release was "Chump," issued by Rough Division in late 2024. The track established a productive route through contemporary UK Bass-informed breakbeat, with a 135 BPM pulse suited to sets that connect breaks, garage and darker bass music.
During 2025, releases including "Facesun," "Contagion," "Dark Siren," "Ragga Voodoo" and "What?" developed that language through Ook Records. The same period also brought "Lokko" and "Liberado" for Raveart Records, extending the project into another active breakbeat platform.
Ook Records is fundamental to Twook's work. As the label's founder and CEO, Twook has made it a principal home for a catalogue that includes bass-driven breakbeat, UK garage/bassline and deeper 140-rooted material. The label operates as a focused outlet for the project's darker, self-directed identity.
The connection with garage is especially audible in releases such as "Nullfire," while tracks across the Ook catalogue move between broken-beat propulsion, dubstep weight and dark 2-step space. This flexibility gives the project a useful position in DJ sets that do not treat genre borders as fixed.
Twook has also collaborated with DJ Karpin on "Bass Relay," released through Ook Records. The collaboration places both artists within a shared contemporary Spanish breaks and bass network, grounded in club-focused production rather than revivalism.
The 2026 run, including "Profaned Prayer," "Whisper," "Acid Crawler," "Gryslou," "Scar Bass" and "Slap," continues to deepen the alias's horror-tinged bass vocabulary. These releases retain the project’s emphasis on rhythm and physical sound-system weight while pushing its titles and textures toward a more hostile, cinematic edge.
Twook represents a current Andalusian contribution to the wider breaks continuum: music informed by UK garage, bassline, dubstep and breakbeat traditions, but articulated through a distinctly dark and masked authorial identity. Its strength lies in the convergence of atmosphere, sub-bass discipline and tracks designed for contemporary bass-minded dancefloors.
