The Push are the UK production and DJ duo of Elliot Harrison and Richard Tugwell. Their catalogue brings together breaks, garage, jungle and drum & bass references in a rave-focused language where the divisions between those styles remain deliberately porous.
Their early release history was closely tied to Distorsion Records. The two-track Bringing It Down, released in 2015, began a sustained association with the label and established the project in the contemporary UK breaks continuum.
No Turning Back, featuring Jon Courtney, followed in 2016 in Heavy Amen Breaks and House Breaks Mix versions. Recasting the same song through two rhythmic approaches pointed directly to the duo's interest in the meeting of amen-led breakbeat pressure and house- or garage-derived swing.
By 2017, Feel So Good extended the Distorsion run, while Release Me brought MOTIVBREAKS and MC Central into the project's orbit. The latter made the MC voice an active part of The Push's production rather than a decorative addition.
The duo were also identified with release activity on Hot Cakes and Let's Go Recordings during this formative period. Those outlets placed them alongside a strand of UK breaks that treated rave-era rhythmic language as a living vocabulary rather than a revival exercise.
Nightfall, recorded with Lauren Meehan and released in 2018, developed the vocal side of their work. Remixes from Firestar Soundsystem and Adam Vyt connected the release to a wider network of breaks producers working across the UK and European circuit.
As their discography broadened, The Push appeared on labels including FunkTasty Crew Records, Raveart Records, Rough Division, Sound Perfect Breakz Records, ElectroBreakz, Dirty Kitchen Rave and Samay Records. That route has made their work legible across British and Iberian breaks networks without losing its UK garage and rave foundations.
1994, made with Ati for FunkTasty Crew Records in 2022, addressed rave memory explicitly. The same year also brought Coming Back Around with Woter on Distorsion and The Get Down on Raveart; Feel Alive followed via Break Beat Connection in 2023.
Their recent output has made collaboration a defining working method. Want Me with Rasco arrived on Distorsion in 2024, while You Want joined Hankook and Majestic Noise; Pyramid with Woter and Here We Go with Devis Hard further extended that exchange between producers.
In 2025, the two-track Apocalypse EP—containing Annihilate and Killer—appeared through Rough Division. The same period included Pump It and Un, Dos, Tres for Sound Perfect Breakz Records, All Night with Bzrnt and Bassline with Erol Flint, plus No Conversation with Delzie for Dirty Kitchen Rave.
Tracks such as Fiesta with Jormek, Nothing To Fear, Ca$h, Move To The Rhythm and Heaven show the continuing range of their label connections and rhythmic references. Across the catalogue, The Push are defined by the junction of rave breaks, garage-inflected movement, vocal collaborations and MC-led cuts.
