The Autobots are Tom Francis and Jez Staples, a DJ, producer and remix duo from Huddersfield. They formed in 2001. In the catalogue the name is The Autobots; the duo also signs as The AutØbØts. The sound is built on hard breaks, heavily marked basslines and an industrial, rave aesthetic, on the heavier side of British nu skool breaks. They are still active.

The first documented track is Disappear, on the compilation 4 Vini — Forever Young, from Botchit & Scarper. Then come Chickers / Ex-press (2002), Rocky / Shed Dub and The Chase / Blogger (2003), and Hardcore MF / The Formula and DMT / Chickers Remix (2004). Rocky remains one of their most recognisable tracks.

In 2004 they found Broke Records, the label listed in this catalogue as Broke Breaks. The first catalogue number is BROKE001, The Spanish Tune / The Future, with Deep Impact. The label wins the Breakspoll Breakthrough Label award in 2005 and is a finalist for Best Label in 2006. Between 2005 and 2008 comes much of the material of that stretch: Seconds Out, Bomba Latino, Shock Treatment, Bullet Time, Six Million Ways, Ultrafunkula, Rockin' With The Best, This World, Final Conflict, Flesh Eater and The Ends of the Earth series. In 2006 they release The Autobots Present… Broke 'n' English, nineteen tracks. In those years they collaborate with Deep Impact, The Breakfastaz, Screwface, CTRL-Z, MC Navigator, Aquasky and Timmy Schumacher.

In 2011 they remix Modestep's To The Stars with Break The Noize. Their site says the video was number 1 on the YouTube UK music-video chart for a week, passed twelve million plays on YouTube and is past 3.5 million on Spotify.

They do not vanish after the classic stretch, though the releases are less continuous than between 2003 and 2008. In 2013 come Bring Back the Sound, with Dead Audio and MC Spyda, and Release the Beast, with Roisin Brophy. In 2016, Waiting, on Viper Recordings. In 2024 they return with the remix of Dopamine's All The Way, on Toast & Jam, and with the remix of Mortal by Shade K and JS-BREAKS. In March 2026 they release Magic Carpet on Rough Division, the first Autobots single of that year. On 25 April 2026 they play La Caseta del Breakbeat at Pandora Sevilla.
