FORTUNY

Fortuny is Gerard Fortuny, a DJ, producer and remixer born in Valencia in 1975. The breakbeat records of 2025–26 carry the shortened name; Beatport also keeps an older profile under Gerard Fortuny. Both are the same artist. He has said that he now produces breakbeat as Fortuny, after a long run in house, techno and electronic music.

That earlier career was already a working life, not a prelude invented for the new alias. He has been a resident DJ and has played in Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza, Mexico, Argentina, Canada and Romania, among other places. Credits from that period include work with Stan Kolev, Matan Caspi, Julio Posadas, Yolanda Be Cool, Antoine Clamaran and Robbie Rivera, and releases on Revolt Music, Natura Viva, Vamos Music, Blanco y Negro, Pacha Recordings, Matinée Music and Juicy Traxx. The Fortuny Beatport page still carries house and techno titles such as “Nasr,” the Saturn EP, “Interplanetary” and “Virtuosity” beside the new breaks.

The current phase sits on the line between breakbeat and electro. ElectroBreakz is the main outlet: “Excited” and “FRONT” with Jordaz ESP, “My Earth,” “Imagination,” “Atmosphere” and “Experience” with Ro73, the solo “Translation,” “RAGNAROK” with DJ Karpin, and “Right Now,” again with Jordaz ESP. “Excited,” at 133 BPM, is an electro record; “Let’s Go,” with Jordaz ESP on Warriors Beat Return (Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass, 134 BPM), is his strongest breakbeat title and the top track on the Fortuny Beatport page.

Jordaz ESP is the central production partner of this stage. The shared list runs through “Let’s Go,” “Excited,” “Back,” “Intoxication,” “FRONT,” “Omm,” “System & Control,” “Stars,” “Rebels of the Night,” “I Like That” and “Right Now,” plus tracks that also bring in Ro73, TakiBreaks or Jormek. Ro73 is the other recurring name: “My Earth,” “Destiny” (Elektroshok Records), “Neo Genesis” and “My Cosmos,” and, with Jordaz ESP as well, “Atmosphere,” “Imagination,” “Love of Yesterday” and “Paradise.”
