DJ Žaibas is a breakbeat producer based in Granada whose public discography reaches back at least to 2021. Spotify describes him as based in Granada; that location is on the record. His real name and nationality are not publicly confirmed — the artist himself says he prefers to keep some mystery around his identity — so this entry does not claim Lithuanian origin even though the connection is audible and lexical.
The alias is a Lithuanian word for lightning. He uses Lithuanian voices in some productions, and titles such as Vilnius Drift and Tamsoje underline a cultural thread. That is not the same as a confirmed biography of birthplace or citizenship.
His music deliberately recovers part of the aesthetic of late-1990s and early-2000s electronic music. In his own words on Apple Music and Shazam he mixes breakbeat with that spirit and names three reference albums: Hybrid's Wider Angle, The Crystal Method's Vegas and The Prodigy's Music for the Jilted Generation. What interests him is atmosphere, cinematic depth and psychedelic components — not a generic breaks formula.
When asked which of his own tracks best represents him, he chooses Dreamscape: atmosphere, trance-leaning leads, punchy breakbeats and mysterious Lithuanian vocals in one place. International Oceanographic earned direct Beatport editorial support in November 2024 — Best New Breaks / UK Bass, The Breaks / UK Bass Shortlist and Warm Up Essentials 2025: Breaks / UK Bass — which is a measurable mark inside the international breakbeat circuit.
The commercial timeline starts before the Close Your Eyes run that now dominates Beatport. Apple Music lists The Awakening EP from 2021. On 17 June 2022 €covol Muzak Industries issued Iridium Breakz I with Tokyo 97 and Silverheadz; Apple files that release under Jungle / Drum'n'Bass. In 2024 he stayed on €covol with Hidden Transmission and, on 17 June, the album Alpujarra Rave — nine tracks whose title and cuts such as Andarax tie the work to Granada and the Alpujarra. The label's Bandcamp tags the set across electronic, breakbeat, breaks, drum and bass, jungle, rave and trance.
From the second half of 2024 his main label association is Close Your Eyes: Snowboard 97, Dreamscape, Tamsoje, Mildness and International Oceanographic. On 2 May 2025 he released Outbreakbeat there — thirteen tracks, more than an hour, almost all filed on Beatport as Breaks / Breakbeat / UK Bass and currently among the label's popular releases. He is not presented as a label owner or member; the relationship is discographic and sustained.
In 2025 he also worked with CURLY (CH) on Reality Shift and remixed CURLY's Andromeda. In 2026 Beatport registers What's Next on Banana Club (6 March), The Same on Close Your Eyes (1 May), Freefall 4U on Close Your Eyes (26 June), CyberDolphin on the label's fifth-anniversary compilation (29 May), and International Oceanographic (Emisora 404 Remix) on Close Your Eyes (14 August) as the most recent credit tied to his name in mid-August 2026.
Other imprints include 83 and Banana Club beside €covol and Close Your Eyes. DJ activity beyond the producing alias is not documented here. In 2026 he remains fully active in the studio.
