MBREAKS

MBREAKS is the stage name of Carmen, a DJ, producer and programmer from Seville. She works at the intersection of breakbeat, UK garage, 2-step, bassline and drum & bass, and is part of the Pure Bassline collective. Her home label is 83. In September 2026 she released Changes there, a twelve-track album that Beatportal presented as the statement that best summarises her personal and sonic evolution so far: not only the sound, but also her production method and her way of understanding music.

Her identity is formed first in the booth, inside the Seville scene. SoundCloud and her own public presentation place her in Seville and in Pure Bassline, with a repertoire that already mixed broken rhythms and British bass vocabularies. In 2017 she was named Best Revelation DJ at the International Breaks Awards.

She herself identifies 2020 as the professional turning point: Sala Cosmos gave her the chance to programme and curate breakbeat events in her hometown. From then on she is not only a DJ and producer: she also builds scene. In 2026 she named Pandora Club Sevilla as the base from which to keep opening space for local artists and, especially, new DJs and producers.

As a DJ she has played Dreambeach, Monegros and elrow. The Dreambeach 2023 opening set is, in her own account, the high point of her career in the booth.

Her consolidation as a producer is tied to 83. The studio achievement she cites with most pride is reaching number one on Beatport with Analog Saw, alongside her brother Bowser, on that label (September 2023). Changes gathers that arc: it brings Analog Saw back, collaborates again with Bowser (Blake) and with Guau (Dancing Astronaut), and includes remixes of Soniquete (Faenna) and Why Can't Be Love (Baymont Bross).
